Biosensors track skin breakdown in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07560683

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at how the skin barrier works in intensive care patients who are at risk for pressure injuries (bedsores). Researchers will use non-invasive biosensors to measure things like skin moisture, acidity, and temperature in areas prone to injury. The goal is to understand what changes happen in the skin before a pressure injury develops, which could help improve prevention. About 156 adults in the ICU will take part.
