Biosensors track skin breakdown in ICU patients before bedsores appear

NCT ID NCT07560683

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study watches how the skin barrier changes in 156 intensive care patients who are at risk for bedsores (pressure injuries). Using gentle biosensors, researchers measure things like skin moisture, acidity, and temperature in common problem areas. The goal is to find early clues that predict skin damage, so doctors can step in sooner.
