Mini-Screws vs. dental anchors: which works better for straightening teeth?

NCT ID NCT01025141

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at whether using small metal screws (mini-screws) in the jawbone works better than traditional dental anchors for closing gaps after tooth removal during braces treatment. About 99 people aged 12 to 50 who needed two upper premolars extracted took part. The main goal was to see how well the space closed and how straight the teeth became after 8 months.
