Race to save organs after Life-Saving heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07156656

Summary

This study is testing whether a 3-day intravenous drug, sivelestat sodium, can help protect the function of vital organs like the lungs, kidneys, and liver in patients recovering from emergency surgery for a torn aorta. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo in 236 patients to see if it reduces organ failure, shortens ICU stays, and improves 28-day recovery outcomes. The goal is to give patients a better chance of surviving and recovering from this major operation.
