Drug trial aims to stop organ failure after Life-Saving heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07156656

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called sivelestat sodium can help protect the organs of patients who have just had emergency surgery for a torn aorta (type A aortic dissection). Researchers will give the drug or a placebo (inactive substance) through an IV for 3 days after surgery to 236 patients. They will measure if the drug helps patients' organs recover better, reduces complications, and improves their 28-day outcomes.
