Peer support program aims to lower heart risks in stressed farmworker women

NCT ID NCT07111026

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 10-week peer support program led by community health workers can improve heart health and reduce stress in rural farmworker women aged 18-50. Participants will meet in small groups to learn about healthy behaviors, manage stress, and connect with community resources. The program is compared to a basic information-only approach to see if the extra support makes a difference in blood pressure, weight, blood sugar, and overall well-being.
