First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study is testing a special balloon coated with a drug (sirolimus) to treat blocked heart arteries. About 1,100 adults with coronary artery disease will receive this balloon treatment during a standard procedure. The goal is to see if it safely opens blockages and keeps arteries clear for up to 3 years, possibly offering an alternative to permanent stents.
