Immunotherapy combo slows advanced lung cancer in major trial

NCT ID NCT03607539

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding the immunotherapy drug sintilimab to standard chemotherapy helps people with advanced or spreading non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. About 400 adults who had not received prior treatment took part. The combination delayed cancer growth compared to chemotherapy alone, but ongoing treatment is needed, so this is a disease control approach, not a cure.
