New One-Visit HPV test could save lives in remote areas
NCT ID NCT07538050
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study will test a new, low-cost HPV test that gives same-day results, allowing women to get screened and treated in one visit. Researchers will enroll 1,000 women in rural El Salvador to see if this approach reduces the number of women who miss follow-up care compared to the usual two-visit method. The goal is to make cervical cancer screening more accessible and effective in low-resource settings.
