One shot instead of pills: ER trial tests quick UTI fix
NCT ID NCT05227937
Summary
This study is testing if a single injection of the antibiotic amikacin can effectively treat simple bladder infections in women visiting the emergency room. The goal is to see if this one-time treatment is a practical alternative to the usual 3-7 day course of antibiotic pills. Researchers will check if symptoms are gone within 3 days and follow up with patients by phone.
