First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tested a brief, web-based program for parents of children with anxiety who were waiting for cognitive behavioral therapy. The program aimed to reduce how much parents accommodate their child's anxiety, which can make anxiety worse. 47 parents participated, and the study measured changes in parent accommodation and child anxiety symptoms over 6 months. Results may offer a helpful way to support families during long wait times for therapy.
