First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests if simvastatin, a common cholesterol drug, can fight infection and reduce inflammation when placed inside a tooth that has had a failed root canal. About 54 adults with a single-rooted tooth and a small bone infection will receive this medication during retreatment. The goal is to see if it helps heal the bone and control the infection better than standard care.
