High-Tech dolls train parents for medical emergencies at home

NCT ID NCT04308109

Summary

This study is testing whether realistic simulation training helps caregivers better prepare for medical emergencies at home with children who have a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck). Caregivers are randomly assigned to receive either high-tech mannequin-based training, simpler doll-based training, or standard education alone. Researchers will measure if the simulation improves caregiver skills, confidence, and reduces hospital visits after the child goes home.
