High-Tech dolls train parents to handle child breathing emergencies
NCT ID NCT04308109
Summary
This study is testing whether realistic simulation training helps caregivers better manage emergencies at home for children who need a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck). Caregivers are randomly assigned to receive either high-tech mannequin-based training, simpler doll-based training, or standard education alone. Researchers will measure if the simulation improves caregiver skills, reduces hospital readmissions, and shortens the child's initial hospital stay.
