Practice makes perfect: simulation eases student anxiety before real exams
NCT ID NCT07535255
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at 67 midwifery students to see if practicing vaginal exams on a simulator (instead of real patients) reduces their anxiety and boosts confidence. Results showed that simulation training significantly lowered anxiety and improved self-confidence, but students who practiced on real patients had better technical skills. The takeaway: simulation helps with nerves, but real-world practice is still essential for mastering the procedure.
