First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a new approach for people with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes. Instead of slowly adding more drugs, participants received a short course of intensive insulin therapy, then switched to a simpler combination of two pills. The goal was to see if this could help more patients achieve good blood sugar control with fewer medications. The trial involved 274 adults in China.
