First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether different doses of silymarin (a milk thistle extract) can help lower elevated liver enzymes caused by certain medications. Nineteen adults with drug-induced liver enzyme elevation took silymarin or a placebo for 35 days. The goal was to see if higher or more frequent doses improve the liver-protective effect.
