First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether sildenafil, a drug often used for other conditions, can reduce inflammation in the lungs of people with cystic fibrosis (CF). Researchers measured changes in sputum and breath markers in 36 participants aged 12 and older with stable lung function. The goal was to see if sildenafil could help control the disease, not cure it.
