First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at ways to help pediatric doctors better document and discuss sickle cell trait (SCT) results with families. SCT is found during routine newborn screening, but often not shared or recorded. The researchers tested a toolkit of strategies with 114 healthcare providers to see if it improved how often SCT results were documented and discussed. The goal was to close the gap between guidelines and real-world practice.
