First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a training program for healthcare providers to improve how they talk with children who have sickle cell disease. The training teaches doctors to see each patient as an individual and understand their perspective. 30 providers from three hospitals will be randomly assigned to either the communication training or a standard education session, and researchers will compare how patient-centered their conversations become.
