Summary
This study looked at how sickle cell disease affects leg muscle function. Researchers compared 77 people with sickle cell disease to healthy volunteers by measuring muscle strength and fatigue during a short exercise. The goal was to learn if muscle problems contribute to the poor physical fitness often seen in sickle cell patients.
