Summary
This study aims to help more people with sickle cell disease in Nigeria get hydroxyurea, a medicine that reduces pain crises and other serious problems. The researchers will train healthcare workers and use simple guidelines to increase the number of patients taking this drug. About 900 patients aged 1 year and older who are not currently on hydroxyurea will take part. The goal is to make this effective treatment more widely available and improve long-term health.
