Spiritual care with dhikr put to the test for heart failure fatigue
NCT ID NCT07795632
First seen Aug 31, 2026 · Last updated Sep 02, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This trial tests a 12-week spiritual nursing program called SHS-Zikir, which combines guided spiritual sessions with Islamic dhikr practices, for Muslim adults with heart failure. The program aims to strengthen a person's connection with Allah, self, others, and the environment through education, prayer, gratitude, forgiveness, family support, and home practice. Researchers will measure changes in spiritual well-being, fatigue, and quality of life from the start to the end of the program. The goal is to see whether this approach can support holistic care for people living with heart failure.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Sound Heart Spiritual Intervention Combined With Dhikr (SHS-Zikir), a 12-week structured spiritual nursing program with guided sessions, education, dhikr, prayer, Qur'an recitation, gratitude, forgiveness, family support, and self-care, plus home practice.
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this program could offer a practical, non-drug way to improve spiritual well-being, reduce fatigue, and enhance quality of life for people living with heart failure.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with 60 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is behavioral, and its benefits depend on personal engagement and adherence.
