New study pits two shoulder surgeries Head-to-Head

NCT ID NCT06735170

Summary

This study is comparing two different surgical approaches for people with large, difficult-to-repair rotator cuff tears in the shoulder. Researchers want to see whether a procedure called tuberoplasty (which involves placing a graft over bone) or a subacromial balloon spacer is better at reducing painful bone-on-bone contact when lifting the arm. They will measure shoulder motion and ask patients about their pain and function to determine which method provides better results.
