First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested two different ways to numb the arm and shoulder during shoulder surgery to see which provides better pain relief and less impact on breathing. Thirty adults having shoulder arthroscopy received either a combination of two nerve blocks or a single block. Researchers measured pain scores and diaphragm movement (a key breathing muscle) after surgery.
