Simple shoulder stretches boost heart device recovery for years
NCT ID NCT07496554
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether doing simple shoulder exercises soon after getting a heart device (like a pacemaker) helps people recover better over three years. 89 adults were split into groups: some did pendulum or stretching exercises, others got standard care. Results showed that early exercise improved shoulder movement, grip strength, and quality of life without harming the device. The key takeaway is that starting gentle shoulder rehab right after surgery can provide lasting benefits.
