Study aims to get kids home sooner after appendix surgery

Summary
This study is testing if a 'fast track' recovery plan can safely shorten hospital stays for children who have surgery for a burst or infected appendix. Researchers will compare the new plan, which involves less time on IV antibiotics and earlier discharge, to the standard 5-day hospital stay. They want to see if kids sent home sooner have the same low rate of complications, like infections, as those who stay longer.
