Could shorter seizure treatment be just as effective for brain tumor patients?

NCT ID NCT06442748

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study compares a short course (6 months) versus a long course (2-3 years) of the seizure medicine levetiracetam in 604 adults with brain tumors who have been seizure-free for 6 months. The goal is to see if stopping the medicine earlier can reduce side effects like drowsiness and coordination problems without increasing seizures. Participants must have had a seizure, a confirmed brain tumor diagnosis, and be stable on levetiracetam alone.
