First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a short course of radiation, while keeping certain lymph nodes intact, followed by an immunotherapy drug (PD-1 inhibitor) can completely eliminate rectal cancer before surgery. It involves 44 adults with stage II-III rectal cancer. The goal is to see if this approach leads to no cancer cells left in the removed tissue.
