First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding shockwave therapy to standard care can reduce pain and swelling in women with lipedema, a condition that causes fat buildup in the legs. About 50 women aged 18-65 with early-stage lipedema will take part. Half will get standard care alone, and half will also receive shockwave treatments over 4 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in leg size, pain, and quality of life at 4 and 8 weeks.
