Shockwaves vs. heart artery hardening: can a new combo treatment improve survival?

NCT ID NCT07340294

Summary

This study is testing if adding a new shockwave therapy to the standard procedure for opening blocked heart arteries works better for patients with moderate-to-severe artery hardening (calcification). Researchers will compare the long-term health of over 1,000 patients who receive either the standard treatment alone or the standard treatment plus the shockwave therapy. The goal is to see if the combined approach leads to fewer future heart problems, like heart attacks or the need for repeat procedures.
