Shock waves could ease stubborn back pain

NCT ID NCT07132762

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) to standard physical therapy helps people with chronic low back pain feel better and move easier. About 44 adults with pain lasting over 3 months will receive either standard care alone or standard care plus ESWT. Researchers will measure pain, disability, and muscle stiffness using ultrasound to see if the shock waves provide extra relief.
