Kidney drug tested in diabetic vs non-diabetic patients – results may guide future care

NCT ID NCT07302464

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at how a class of diabetes drugs called SGLT2 inhibitors changes kidney function in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Researchers compared 60 patients with and without diabetes to see if the drug affects their estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) differently. The goal was to understand whether these drugs benefit both groups, not just those with diabetes.
