Could a common diabetes pill protect the brain after a stroke?

Summary
This study tests whether canagliflozin, a drug used for diabetes, can reduce dangerous brain swelling and bleeding in people who have had a severe stroke and are receiving emergency treatment to reopen blocked arteries. About 150 adults will be randomly assigned to take the drug for 14 days or receive standard care alone. The goal is to see if this approach improves recovery and reduces complications after stroke.
