Summary
This study tested whether a specific inhaled anesthetic (sevoflurane) protects the heart better than an intravenous one (propofol) during planned aortic valve replacement surgery. The goal was to reduce heart muscle stress, measured by a protein called troponin. 82 adults having open-heart surgery took part.
