New anesthesia combo may calm kids waking up from surgery

Summary
This study looks at two different anesthesia approaches to see which one causes less confusion and agitation in children when they wake up after surgery. About 400 kids aged 2 to 7 having ear, nose, throat, eye, or urology procedures will be randomly assigned to receive either isoflurane or sevoflurane plus a sedative called dexmedetomidine. The goal is to find a way to make recovery smoother for young patients.
