First seen Nov 04, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether trained service dogs can help reduce PTSD symptoms in military veterans over 15 months. About 150 veterans who already qualify for a service dog will be randomly assigned to get one or not. Researchers will track changes in PTSD severity, depression, and daily functioning to understand how and for whom these dogs work best.
