NCT ID NCT05105399

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 04, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether a nerve block (serratus plane block) can help people with multiple broken ribs breathe easier and have less pain. 72 participants will be randomly assigned to standard pain relief alone, or standard relief plus a continuous or single-shot nerve block. The main goal is to see if the continuous block improves lung function compared to the other options.
