First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a nerve block (serratus plane block) can improve breathing and reduce pain in people with multiple broken ribs. 72 participants will be randomly assigned to standard pain medication alone, or standard medication plus a continuous or single-shot nerve block. The goal is to see if the nerve block helps patients take deeper breaths and have fewer lung complications.
