Simple exercises sharpen shoulder sense after breast cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07316283

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding sensorimotor training (exercises that improve body awareness) to standard physical therapy helps women ages 35-55 who had shoulder problems after mastectomy. 46 women were split into two groups: one got the extra exercises, the other got standard therapy only. Both groups did their programs three times a week for eight weeks. The goal was to see if the extra training improved how accurately the women could sense their shoulder's position.
