Anti-aging pill targets brittle bones in new trial

NCT ID NCT06018467

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether drugs that remove aged 'senescent' cells from the body can improve bone health in older adults with weak bones (osteopenia or osteoporosis). About 120 men and women aged 60-90 with increased fracture risk will receive senolytics or a placebo. The main goal is to see if these drugs safely reduce bone breakdown and improve bone formation markers over 21 weeks.
