Self-Kindness cuts compulsive gaming in young adults

NCT ID NCT07270315

Summary

This study tested whether learning self-compassion could help young adults reduce unhealthy gaming habits. Researchers gave 308 online gamers a two-week self-compassion program and compared them to a waitlist group. The program successfully increased self-kindness and reduced problematic gaming by helping meet psychological needs and lowering social anxiety.
