First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a surgery called selective dorsal rhizotomy to reduce muscle stiffness (spasticity) caused by traumatic brain or spinal cord injury. The surgery cuts certain nerve roots in the spine to relax tight muscles. Researchers will measure changes in muscle tone and electrical activity. The study aims to provide a more affordable option than a baclofen pump, especially in low- and middle-income countries. It will include 32 people aged 4 and older.
