First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026
Summary
This study will test a surgery called selective dorsal rhizotomy to reduce severe muscle stiffness (spasticity) caused by brain or spinal cord injury. The procedure involves cutting specific nerve roots to lower muscle tone. Researchers will enroll 32 people aged 4 and older to see if this one-time surgery can be a safe, cost-effective alternative to a long-term implanted pump that delivers medication.
