BREAST CANCER BREAKTHROUGH? new study lets patients choose chemo-free treatment

NCT ID NCT06953882

First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study is for people with a common type of breast cancer (ER-positive, HER2-negative) that has a moderate to high risk of coming back based on tumor size and lymph node involvement, but a low genetic risk score. Instead of chemotherapy after surgery, participants can choose to take a combination of ribociclib (a targeted pill) and optimized hormone therapy. The main goal is to see how many people can stay on ribociclib for a full year without stopping due to side effects or other reasons. The study is currently recruiting 140 participants.
