Breathing gas vs. IV drip: a new hope for the most severe COVID cases?
NCT ID NCT04415060
Summary
This study is testing if using anesthetic gases (like those used in surgery) to sedate critically ill COVID-19 patients on ventilators works better than standard intravenous (IV) drugs. The goal is to see if the gases help patients' lungs heal faster, get them off the ventilator sooner, and improve their chances of survival. It also aims to provide a practical solution during drug shortages.
