Which sedative protects the aging brain during surgery?
NCT ID NCT07113483
Summary
This study aims to find out which of two sedation drugs, Remimazolam or Midazolam, is better for older adults having bone surgery. Researchers want to see which drug provides good sedation during the operation and causes fewer problems with thinking and memory in the first few days after surgery. About 120 participants aged 65 and older will be randomly assigned to receive one of the drugs, and neither they nor their doctors will know which one is given.
