Could a second ejaculate boost IVF success? new trial investigates

NCT ID NCT07056400

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 24, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether using sperm from a second ejaculate (collected 1-2 hours after the first) can improve fertilization and embryo quality in ICSI, a type of IVF. Researchers will compare sperm quality and pregnancy outcomes between first and second ejaculates in 108 couples where the male partner has abnormal sperm. The goal is to see if this simple change can lead to better results.
