Baby skin cream may stop food allergies before they start

NCT ID NCT03742414

First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether starting a special skin care routine early in life can prevent food allergies in babies who already have eczema. About 400 infants with eczema by 12 weeks old will either get proactive treatment (a barrier cream and a steroid cream) or standard care. The goal is to see if this approach reduces the number of foods they become allergic to.
