Major study aims to rewrite rules for treating deadly leg artery disease

This research project tracks the experiences of 458 people with critical limb-threatening ischemia, a severe form of peripheral artery disease that can lead to amputation. The goal is to gather information to set new standards for diagnosing the condition, measure what matters most to patients, and see how different treatments affect outcomes. No new drug or device is being tested; instead, the study focuses on learning from current care to improve future care.
