Summary
This early safety study tested whether adding a patient's own Schwann cells to a standard nerve graft could help repair severe nerve injuries. Five adults with major nerve damage in their arms or legs participated. Doctors harvested the patients' own cells, grew them in a lab, and added them to nerve grafts during surgery to see if they could improve healing and function.
